What we process & why (legal bases – Art. 6 GDPR)
- Site operation & security (server logs, IP, user-agent, firewall/anti-spam): legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)).
- Comments & accounts (name, email, IP/user-agent for spam detection): contract (Art. 6(1)(b)) and legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)).
- Orders & support (if enabled): contract (b) and legal obligation (c).
- Emails/newsletters: contract (b) and/or consent (a) for marketing.
- Non-essential cookies/trackers: consent (a). You can control them via your browser or our banner (if present).
Comments & avatars
When you leave a comment, we store the data you enter plus IP and user-agent to prevent spam. An anonymized hash of your email may be sent to external avatar services (e.g., Gravatar) to check if you use them; after approval, your avatar may be shown with your comment.
Spam prevention & security
We use WP Captcha and All-in-One WP Security (AIOS) to block automated submissions and malicious IPs (legitimate interests, Art. 6(1)(f)).
Email sending
Transactional/system emails are sent via a European email service provider acting as our processor. Processing primarily occurs in the EU; where transfers outside the EEA are necessary, appropriate safeguards (e.g., SCCs) apply.
Hosting
Our site is hosted by a GDPR-compliant hosting provider. Hosting-related processing enables secure and reliable website operation.
Cookies
Necessary cookies operate the site (login state, security, preferences). Optional cookies (analytics/marketing) are used only with your consent.
Retention
- Comments & accounts: kept until deletion (unless longer retention is required by law).
- Order/accounting records (if applicable): retained according to German commercial/tax law.
- Server logs & security events: retained only as long as necessary for security/troubleshooting.
Your rights
